PRABOA's Initiatives for the Parkhurst Community

The Parkhurst Residents and Business Owners Association (PRABOA) is actively working to improve the quality of life for all residents and business owners. Parkhurst was the first suburb in South Africa to receive fibre internet connectivity to every home. This significant project, driven by PRABOA, commenced in 2014, in partnership with Vumatel. PRABOA's SafeParks programme, in collaboration with Cortac Security and 24/7 Security, provides dedicated patrol vehicles, armed response, and alarm monitoring. In April 2026, the Parkhurst Neighbourhood Watch (PNW), an integral part of PRABOA, announced plans to install additional high-definition CCTV cameras. The PNW is also increasing foot and vehicle patrols, particularly along the busy 4th Avenue. John Mofokeng, head of the Parkhurst Neighbourhood Watch, stated, "We are committed to proactive security measures. Our goal is to ensure every resident and business owner feels safe, day and night. We are continuously seeking innovative ways to deter criminal activity, which is central to the Parkhurst ethos."
